Habitat
A fulfilling partnership and a lasting contribution to our community, HABITAT FOR HUMANITY of Charlotte brings together people from all walks of life to develop community with people in need by building and renovating homes, and helping families people live and grow into all that God intended. Holy Covenant members regularly participate in building projects as individuals, and as part of InterFaith Build initiatives.
Holy Covenant is looking to partner with area Habitat for Humanity chapters and Mary Lou Iantosca is developing a list of all interested members along with email addresses.
There are several great opportunities for Holy Covenant members to participate with Habitat Charlotte. Below is a list of dates (all Saturdays) of projects with brief descriptions and the number of folks needed. Mary Lou is striving to create a list of volunteers and dates they are available; once completed she will forward the list to Habitat of Charlotte. Even if you are only available one or two dates, please contact Mary Lou by email Emmie32@aol.com or you can call her at 704/519-5059.
All volunteers must be at least 16 years old. If anyone is under 18, there is a minor release form that needs to be completed and brought to the worksite. Also, any volunteer under 18 cannot use power tools or work above six feet off of the ground. Also, please let me know if you would be willing to work on a roof.
