MUSICIAN’S FORUM
We have an exciting new opportunity for musicians and singers to get together and plan for special music in worship. If you play an instrument, sing as a soloist, or love to sing vocal harmony, come and join with others in planning ways of sharing your talents in worship as a soloist, accompanist, or with a small group. We will be forming small ensembles to work on contemporary, gospel, jazz, folk, or other genres of interest. The initial meeting of the Musician’s Forum will be Sunday, August 28 after worship, 12:15-1:00 PM in the conference room. If you are interested in participating but can not attend, contact Judah (see below) to fill out a brief form about your musical skills and interests so that your input may be included. We will be scheduling special music through December and plan for the Musician’s Forum to meet quarterly.
CALLING ALL SINGERS
Now’s your chance! The new season of the HCUCC Chancel Choir will begin in September, with the first rehearsal scheduled for Thursday night, September 1 at 7:00 PM. The Choir is happy to accept new singers in all voice parts. All singers, both new and returning members, are asked to contact Judah Jones, Minister of Music, with your interest and availability by Sunday August 21 so that a music folder, music, cubby, and robe can be prepared for you. You may sign up to sing for any portion of the fall season through the end of December. The Choir will be helping celebrate the “seasons of creation” in September, provide special music for All Saint’s Day and a Thanksgiving service in November, and present an Advent/Christmas lessons and carols service in December.
