More Joyful Noises in the Making
Chancel Choir Spring Season
The new season of the Chancel Choir will begin with rehearsal on Thursday night January 12 at 7PM. However, note for your planning that the majority of rehearsals will begin at 7:30 PM, with the time from 7 – 7:30 PM reserved for small ensemble and other special music rehearsals and for vocal training sessions for interested singers. On January 12, we will prepare special music in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Sunday. All interested singers are invited to join the Choir for the spring season which will cover the seasons of Epiphany, Lent and Easter with a special music program planned for Palm and Passion Sunday April 1. New singers are asked to contact Judah Jones at hcuccmusic@aol.com so that a folder, a music cubby, music, and a robe can be prepared for you. Voices are needed in all sections.
Musicians Forum
Instrumentalists, accompanists, singers, and any others interested in music are invited to be a part of our Musicians‘ Forum. This group is asked to share feedback about music in worship and help plan for special music for upcoming services. If you have a talent to offer, please let us know. Volunteers are especially needed to serve as ensemble coordinators. This is more of an administrative than a music position, requiring coordination of volunteers, schedules, and communication of bulletin information. The Musicians‘ Forum meets quarterly and will meet again on Sunday, February 5, at 12:15 PM in the Conference Room. All are welcome. For more information or to schedule special music, contact Judah Jones.
HCUCC Men’s Ensemble
All interested male singers are invited to join our new men‘s ensemble under the direction of Gerald Gurss. Gerald has a Master of Music degree from Miami University, a diverse list of musical accomplishments, and is currently Artistic Director of One Voice Chorus. If you‘d like to sing with this group, please contact g.gurss@hotmail.com. We look forward to this group singing again in February.
